A Great CCAI Family Day
More than 500 children, parents, and CCAI friends from 12 mid-western states gathered at the beautiful Columbus Zoo & Aquarium on August 4 to celebrate CCAI’s 15th Anniversary. Event organizers Tina Meerschaert and Lori Polly worked their magic to turn the gathering into a huge, delightful party. From outstanding performances by local Chinese dancers, an award-winning puppet show by Taiwan artists, and a heartwarming lion dance by Shaolin Kungfu practitioners, to a silent auction that attracted enthusiastic participation, tons of tasty food, and entertaining animals throughout the zoo, the fun just didn’t stop!
CCAI’s co-founders Josh and Lily joined the celebration and thanked the children, families, and volunteers for believing in and supporting CCAI. On behalf of the CCAI mid-western families, LouAnn Gintner presented Lily with a donation check to support CCAI’s charity outreach programs. Josh and Lily also had the opportunity to speak with CCAI waiting families.
On the same day, a group of CCAI families gathered in California at Irvine Regional Park to celebrate the fifth CCAI West Coast reunion. Thanks to those volunteers, particularly Cindy and Jay Friesen, for making the reunion possible!
