CCAI and CCAA Join Hands to Wrap Orphans in Love
Karen Bradley, mother of two Chinese daughters, has in the past two years made more
than 1,400 beautiful blankets for Chinese children in orphanages. Her loving efforts
have inspired CCAI and the China Center of Adoption Affairs to join hands once again
to initiate a “Blankets for Babies” project. The project’s 2007 goal was to produce
a total of 1,000 blankets through adoptive families’ participation before June 1, 2007,
Children’s Day in China. Through the combined efforts of Karen and CCAI, the project
nearly doubled their goal and shipped 1,757 blankets for June! The CCAA helped with
the individual delivery of the blankets by selecting orphanages in need and assisting
with distribution. With further mailings in 2007, the total blankets shipped with Karen’s
Blankets for Babies Project has exceeded 4,300 - this means 4,300 warmer babies and children!
Since this is an on-going project to help the waiting children of China’s orphanages,
we invite all of you to be a part of this beautiful project by making your own blankets
or a donation to help with shipping. For questions, please email blankets@chinesechildren.org.
