Who are the professionals involved?
The CCAI Counseling Team is a group of professionally trained therapists, (Ph.D’s, LCSW’s, and Clinical Psychologists), who have strong skills in working with individuals of all ages, families, and couples. All of the therapists have knowledge in and experience related to attachment, adoption issues, and international adoption. The team has a broad range of specialties and areas of expertise.
Do we have to go to the CCAI office to get services?
Families will be able to see our therapists at offices in Southeast Denver, Central Denver, and Centennial (CCAI). We also offer limited services and referrals to therapists in Ft. Collins, Boulder, Longmont, and Colorado Springs.
Is the cost of seeing a professional through CCAI affordable?
Our fee is $85.00 per hour, which is at the lower end of private counseling service fees in Colorado . We also offer a sliding scale to families that qualify.
Is the counseling center solely for CCAI families?
CCAI families are our focus and the reason the Counseling Center has been created, but the Counseling Center welcomes anyone in the community seeking services related to adoption issues, particularly international adoption.
How can the Counseling Center help if I live outside of Colorado?
We offer fee-for-service phone consultations to families who desire input from one of our therapists over the phone. Phone consultations will not be ongoing nor will they be considered “therapy”. When appropriate, the clinician doing the phone consultation will recommend that the client see a local therapist.
