While the steps to complete a Waiting Child adoption generally follow the same path, there may be some differences in the sequence of steps depending on where you are in the adoption process. Look below to find your individual situation:
|
We’re just getting started in the China adoption process and will be submitting an application to CCAI soon. |
Our dossier has already been logged in at the CCAA, or we are nearly finished with our dossier. |
We are between 50 and 54 years old or have more than four minor children in our home. |
Initial Paperwork |
Submit the Medical Conditions Checklist ( MCC ) to CCAI along with your application (leave the social worker signature section blank if you haven’t been assigned a social worker yet). If you choose to submit your Checklist prior to your application, please include your CCAI Family Information Sheet. Keep a copy of your MCC and ask your social worker to sign it during your home study process (in order for you to be considered for a child referral). |
You are welcome to submit the Medical Conditions Checklist ( MCC ) at any time! Please make sure to have a conversation with your social worker and ask him/her to sign your MCC before you submit it to CCAI. |

Child Referral |
CCAI will attempt to present you with a potential child referral according to your MCC . When you accept a referral, we’ll provide you with a To Do List to instruct you on your Letter of Intent (LOI) and other necessary documentation depending on where you are in the adoption process. |
